Like most websites, our servers and our hosting and security providers process your IP address and basic browser and device information to deliver the Services, keep them secure, and limit abuse. Specifically:

If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.

In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties.

Other users

SC Market is a marketplace, so much of what you do on it is shared by design. The users you trade with see your profile and the orders, offers, contracts, and messages you exchange with them. Organizations you join see your membership and roles. Some information is public to everyone, including people who are not signed in and search engines: your username, display name, avatar, banner, and profile description, your listings and shops, reviews and ratings, and your online status. Your Discord profile is only shown publicly or to sellers if you turn that on in Settings.

Service providers

We use the following service providers to run the Services. They process personal information on our behalf, to provide their service to us:

5. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

In Short: We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your choices. Analytics only run if you click "Accept".

We use cookies and similar technologies (like your browser's local storage) to access or store information:

When you first visit, our cookie banner asks for your choice. You can change it at any time in Settings (Privacy, "Cookie preferences"), or with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page. Choosing "Necessary only" stops Google Analytics and BugSnag Performance and deletes the Google Analytics cookies.

6. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?

In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our Services using Discord or Citizen iD, we may have access to certain information about you.

Our Services let you register and log in with Discord or Citizen iD. When you sign in with Discord, Discord shares your Discord user ID, username, and avatar with us. When you sign in with Citizen iD, Citizen iD shares your RSI handle, Spectrum ID, and avatar, and, if you have linked Discord in Citizen iD, your Discord user ID and username. We do not receive your Discord, Citizen iD, or RSI password.

We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this privacy notice or that are otherwise made clear to you on the relevant Services. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by Discord, Citizen iD, or Roberts Space Industries. We recommend that you review their privacy notices to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information, and how you can set your privacy preferences on their sites and apps.

7. WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION, AND FOR HOW LONG?

In Short: We store your information in the United States, and we keep it for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.

Where. Your information is stored in the United States: our servers and our database run on AWS in the US East (Ohio) region, and uploaded images are stored with Backblaze in the US West region. Requests reach these servers through Cloudflare's network, which handles each request in the Cloudflare data center closest to you.

How long. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us, except as listed below. Some information is kept for a shorter time:

When you delete your account, it is scheduled for deletion after a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel. We then delete your profile, email addresses, sessions, push subscriptions, listing views, and other personal data, and remove your personal details from your account record. Records that other users rely on, such as orders, contracts, messages exchanged with them, and reviews, are kept without your personal details, and security records (such as two-factor authentication events) are kept to protect the Services.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at [email protected].

You can make such a request by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below.

We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

You can withdraw your consent for analytics at any time by choosing "Necessary only" in Settings (Privacy, "Cookie preferences"), or with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page, or by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below.

However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Account Information

If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases as described in section 7. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.

11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
